Himmelfahrt

On the occasion of her friend Melanie’s funeral, Caro travels to her home village, where she spends the summer. Memories of Melanie force Caro to confront her own life—from a time when the world did not seem big enough to a broken marriage and professional stagnation. She meets her teenage sweetheart Tom and, together with him, sets out in search of answers surrounding the circumstances of her friend’s death. Clearly, she had not known Melanie as well as she thought. Everyone in the village seems to know more than Caro.
